Education efforts of the Connecticut Woman Suffrage Association
The CWSA sponsored publications and events to prepare women for their new role in society. Topics included national politics, international relations, and the operations of government. Lectures were given by officials in state and local government and faculty at Connecticut universities, including Susan Noel of the Connecticut College history department who was active in international peace movements. Nancy Schoonmaker, the director of public relations at the College, wrote a handbook on Conneticut government, which was distributed to high schools and was designed to help women take their proper role in society.
