Votes for Women Pageant and Parade

Plan for the Hartford parade

In 1914, Seton was tasked with helping to organize a march on Hartford as part of a nationwide Votes for Women effort to pressure state governments across the country to support their cause. The Hartford parade featured floats depicting Joan of Arc and Isabella Beecher Hooker, founder of the CWSA, women in the professions, female college graduates, and states that had already granted women the right to vote, among others.

Seton was responsible for outfitting and organizing the street marshalls.
