Chief Big Eagle wrote to Saygo about current work on belts that he is working on that he needs to be backed. He then expresses his gratitude for the war club he received as well as the moccasins for his daughter. He then stated that his wife will be sending a letter as thanks for the moccasins. He goes on to provide a life update and expected date of birth of his daughter.

In the top right corner are price calculations of a belt, hair ties and postage. The writing describes how the belt is not traditional and then a somewhat poetic piece about winter follows though some of the wording is illegible.

June 19th 1981

Chief Big Eagle saying he has sent multiple checks for different items like Marsha's dress and a baby cradle. He also mentions that everyone liked it so much that he is going to bring another Indian for Saygo to make another dress for the august Pow Wow.

Chief Big Eagle says he will pay Saygo 35$ for a headdress and will pay for more goods that Saygo is making. He also mentions how Marsha went to the hospital, but went back home since she did not give birth yet. She is in her 9th month of her pregnancy.

Chief Big Eagle writes to Saygo about updates on a belt and wrist band. He also describes him selling a belt to the Governor of Connecticut. Big Eagle also met with "feds'' in Mystic, Conn. The reason is unknown. Lastly, he provides an update on his young child and wife, and congratulates Saygo on his new home.

July 3rd 1982

Chief Big Eagle in this letter to Saygo starts by mentioning a transaction for 17$ for goods at a Pow Wow. He then goes onto mention how Marsha and his baby were sick with Bronchitis and a throat infection, but are doing alright now. He wraps up the letter by saying Joe had a stroke and his left side of his body is paralyzed.

February 23rd 1987

Chief Big Eagle gives insights into some crafts that he has traded for. Also mentions a trip to Maine and how he is helping set up shelter for his people up there. Finally, he mentions a transaction for a large drum that he will pay for.
