Elks Lodge
New London's Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge 360 was chartered in 1897, but initially did not have a place of its own to meet. In 1906, the group purchased a property at 81 Washington Street, pictured in this postard, for its new home, which opened in 1907. The group demolished the wooden structure in 1928, and in 1929 it dedicated its new building, built on the same site, where it meets to the present day. (Source: http://elks360.org/?q=history)
